Starbucks is Awesome

 I decided to write another post today to make up for my lack of posting for the past few weeks. When I first started this blog, I vowed to blog about only awesome things, so here's one. I was in Englewood with a friend over the weekend, and we had just finished eating ice cream cones at Ben and Jerry's, despite the cold weather (It is still freezing here, and I cannot stand it any longer...). I don't know what made us leave the cheery ice cream shop, but we decided to get off our butts and walk around. After ten seconds of feeling chills running down our spines from the wind, we decided to head into Starbucks. We only realized we would probably have to buy something to be allowed to lounge on the cool sofas and chairs there after we walked in, and we saw no point in buying anything after our ice cream cones. We were about to turn around to leave when I had the most brilliant idea. I confidently walked up to the guy at the counter and asked him for a cup of whipped cream. Yes, that's what I said. He looked confused for a moment and asked if that was all I wanted. I nodded happily, not thinking he'd really give it to me. But he did. And when I tried to pay, he said he'd give it to me for free. Life does not get any more amazing than that.

Oh, Teacher

 This is my old social studies teacher from way back in 8th grade. Yes, he is holding up a gigantic gummy bear. And yes, this picture could not get any more awesome.

Tom Brady, I Ask You Why

 I am a huge New England Patriots fan. Yes, I live just twenty minutes from New York, so I should be a Jets or a Giants fan, along with the majority of the people here, but I am not. I became a Patriots fan when I was eight years old, and after that there was no going back.

 Yesterday the Patriots and the Jets played in the playoffs, and by the end of the fourth quarter, I sat in fetal position, while the Jets fan I watched the game with jumped around the room. It never should have been like that. The Patriots should have had the game in the bag, but they left me heartbroken with a final score of 28-21.

 It's funny, really. I am one of the five or so Patriots fans in my grade, and I realized just how much trouble I made for myself when my phone started buzzing with text messages from jubilant Jets fans after the game. I didn't have school today because of Martin Luther King Day, but I mentally prepared myself for tomorrow. I guess I deserve it though. When the Patriots played the Jets on December 6 and won 45-3, I wasn't exactly the best sport. No, instead I ran around sticking out my tongue and doing little jigs. Bring it on, Jets fans. I deserve it.

The Pictures Say it All

 Everyone should have a cute hat to wear for the winter. I honestly cannot think of one bad thing about having an adorable fuzzy hat covering your head the entire day. I'm going to go and get that blue Ugly Doll hat immediately. What a great way to start the new year!
